'He's never been so late before.'

Glances at her watch, mystified

I tap my foot

Impatient

To the rhythm of irrational

Mundane

She sneezes

A nebulous of dust and virus

Settles on the rails

We glance at each other

Awkward, the impending

Doom of sensibility

The song of steel and wind and humanity

Throbs past us

'Next train to anywhere!'

He prince arrives, they kiss and

Leave, I wait for my next lift and sigh

A rush of flesh sweeps by me

Strangers in a strange universe

Turning back to the horizon
