Sometimes the best thing is to let yourself go, lose yourself in the stars, and spin.

Celebration at Night

First, withdraw.

Let all your cares and fears drift off on the wind

To an elsewhere where they will bother no one for a while.

Set yourself in the ground

And draw up steadiness from your newgrown roots.

Let the rain rinse away the sweat of everyday life.

Open your mouth and let the drops purify your body.

Heat yourself by the crackling flames

And rekindle your roaring spirit.

Now, cooled by wind

Grounded by earth

Soaked with rain

And rejuvenated by fire

Choose a place

Out in the field

At midnight

On the clearest night

Choose a star

Any one you like

And spin

Faster, faster, whirlwind of light

Lose yourself in your pounding feet

The twisting stars

The trees that blurrily frame the sky

Rejoice in your -ness

Now stop

Head down

Feet still

Reel from what you've just been

Tip and stagger, enlightened

Until you can no longer fall

The earth a comforting steadiness under your side.
