Remembrance

I remember without feeling, the you and I we once were,

And now our life’s gone stale.

Written in the scars of my torn body,

Hurt, pain and betrayal …

We were happy once and well in love,

But broken now, I remain.

Caught between us our one small joy.

A glimmer of hope, balm to pain.

Wash the stains from memory,

Like dirt from my hands.

We will rise up and remember.

And at last made a stand.
