She was lost again in a thick cloud of black smoke. The air was suffocating; she couldn’t breath and every time she tried it sent a sharp pain up her side. The smoke was letting off unbearable heat, straining her eyes which in turn makes them swell with pain. She coughed, getting rid of the smoke that had taken refuge in her lungs. She could feel the flames scolding her bare arms leaving burns that made her wince in pain. She took in a deep breath, but instantly regretted it as toxic air started to inflate her lungs. She immediately coughed, trying desperately to rid her body of the deadly gases.

She needed to escape, but she could feel her body’s strength decreasing rapidly. She could feel the life slowly draining out of her, as her eyes became heavier. She wanted to rest, to lay down on the floor and become lost in an ever-lasting slumber.

Her knees finally buckled over and she landed with a loud thump on the hot floorboards. Her head felt dazed and heavy from the smoke, all she could think about was the things she didn’t get the chance to do or say, the people she would never see again, the person she would never see again. She would never see his charming smile, or hear his heart-warming laugh. Never again will she hear his sweet jokes or his gentle voice. She will never again hear the most powerful three words that make her heart race; “I love you”.

As she thought of the many things she was never going to see or do, her mind was slowly fading away, which in turn made her eyes unbearingly heavy. She managed to breathe her last three words before her eyes closed forever…
