rainstorm

i walk under sunlight
and sky
(and sigh)
and wish that everything
wasn’t a mess

for the weather is much too perfect
today , to not be content
with the way things (should) have been

instead i’ll watch the rainbows
bounce between the sprinkler jets
colors kissing droplets in the sun

humming a tune
singing a hope
(waiting)
for my rainstorm
to clear
