The Warrior’s Fear
She laid there, her face blank,
Her eyes dull, as he silently left
The room, he did not turn back,
He could not.
She had spoke of a bond, she
Had spoke of love. How could
Such a small word send such
Fear through him?
Wasn’t he a warrior, hadn’t he
Seen death, killed men and women?
But the only one he cared for
Petrified him.
He looked desperately out into
The rain, the gods had wicked
Senses of humor, to give him
Such a vice.
His blind eyes saw nothing, but
His heart saw all, and his fear
Gripped his heart, showing him
Only despair.
