Of shimmering fairies
Small as Thumbelina
Delicate as a blossom
Pretty as a bluebird
They emerge at dusk
Bright sparkling lights appear
Trails of glittering dust
Thrown over blooming flowers
The forest come alive
What about the woods
For a child's visions of imagination
There's a story to tell
Of tidy little mice
In cosy burrows
And under tree stumps
With houses like us
In families of four or five
Wearing mini shirts and dresses
On doll-sized furniture
Collecting berries and nuts
To take home for tea
Drifting over the lake
In echoes you may have heard
There's a story to tell
Of haunting spirits
Whistling in the wind
Crying like a hark
Howling through a wolf
From unfinished tales
And unfulfiled lives
Watching over the world
In their trapped eternity
Searching for a way out
Whatever it may be
However way it's said
There's always a story to tell
