Lord,
Why would someone so kind, so gentle, and so infantile
Want to take her own life?
What was so terrible
That you could not fix?

Lord,
Why would someone so handsome, so strong, and so athletic
Want to take his own life?
What challenge was too hard
That you could not help?

Lord,
Why would someone so beautiful, so adored, and so widely known
Want to take her own life?
What amount of pressure was too overwhelming
That you could not take care of?

Lord,
Why would someone so sure, so positive, and so proud
Want to take his own life?
What was so unbelievable
That you could not prove?

Then I wonder,

Lord,
How many of these were hiding behind a façade?
What would have happened if they let go;
Revealing their true hearts, minds and souls?
Surely they could have been reached.

Lord,
They could have achieved so much;
They could have gained so much.
A lifetime of joy awaited them,
Through knowing You.

Lord,
If ever I come across persons such as these,
Let me not turn away from them.
Let me be awakened to their pain.
Let me show them the trail of Calvary.

I was once, just like them, until I met You there.
