A Spoil of War

'Til we meet again
In the face of war
'Til we fight beside eachother
Killin' more

Until we win the fight
Just you and I
We'll be heroes of that night
'Til the day we die

That was what we said
Before the war
They told me you were dead
I thought that it was lore...

We met not long ago
In the old drill platoon
Under c'mand of Lt. Ho
Singing our old army tune

"Lock and load
Ready to go
I don't know but
I've been told"

We worked under him
'Til he was dead
Shot our asses off
Until we bled

Than the war time came
We picked up all our guns
Lay down and than took aim
As the enemy came in tons

We shot 'em down
They kept on coming
Swarmed from all around
'ts when we heard their drumming

They had us surrounded
We had no place to go
They were filling the trenches
We had broken defences, behold and lo!

They took us captive
(Those who didnt fight back)
Their strategies were adaptive
And we were eled to their base

They locked us in big rooms
All of us together
We thought it was our dooms
Thought we'd be there forever

We were led outdoors
They picked him of us all
Led us out to the shores
And thats when they shot him

I fell to my knees
Cried out in despair
Was frozen in fear
I will avenge him, I did swear

And avenge I did
We planned a revolt
Kicked the enemy's ass
We left quick as a jolt

The easy part was done
We still had to flee
As hard as we did run
They almost caught up with me

With a quick last bolt
We crossed the border
Safe for the moment
We consulted Admiral Corder

He said to leave
To get away
Run into the eve
Not he alone would even stay

So away we left
Split up into a group
I was bereft
It was time to recoup

I got a real job
New ways I was learning
To kill those of the past
But still making an earning

After I learnt enough
I was ready to strike back
My troop was tough
And than our sacks we packed

We set out the next morning
Making very good time
We striked without warning
They payed back for their warcrime

We left them all dead
And took their belongings
Our message been said
And that satisfied our longing

Unfortunatly we did not know
That there were still some alive
Behind the close plateau
Most did not survive

Oh you should have seen us
Runing with suprise
Fleeing like babies
Atleast we had our allies

They gave us shelter
They really helped us alot
Nothing was close to kelter
And that we never forgot

Many of my friends have died
But I have not passed yet
So now I write without pride
Watching my silhouette

This tale of war is over
Another thing to file
Its true war will never end
And it's truly not worthwhile
