Courage

He scans the room,
impassive dark eyes
darting from
person to person.
They land on me
sending a thrill down my spine
before they flicker to another
the electric charge fades.
He never saw me.
I'm just another faceless person,
in the crowd he towers over,
who wishes she had the courage
to look up and meet his gaze.
