I’ve found a new way to shirk responsibility
It’s called mental illness and it works amazingly
Not just for the one who is ill, but for everyone else

The person who is sick doesn’t have to do anything because it’s not his fault
He doesn’t even know he has a problem at all
You could never ask a sick person to do more than he is capable of

The healthy people around him don’t have to do anything either
Who needs to help a sick person get better?
Since we can’t change him, we was him off our hands

So everyone just lets him wander around their lives
The only part you accept is in pretending to be nice
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change

The cat is going to throw up on me again if I give her a chance
It’s very unpleasant to wake up being vomited on
But it’s not the cat’s fault, because the cat’s sick

Some asshole decided that alcoholism is a disease
That means the drinking problem is really not his
And I was judgmental enough to think he had anything to do with his own addiction

No one needs to have an internal drive anymore
They encourage us to stand around and wait to be given an order
Never ask anyone to do more than they have to

But the work still has to be done
The sick people need do nothing
Smoke a cigarette for a while and blow the smoke in my face

My new job is to do other people’s jobs too
Now that I’ve put in my share, let me put in your share too
If I don’t do everyone else’s jobs for them, then I don’t deserve my own
