Emotions distinguished from reason
Intense, driving; warm and steady
Overmastering the feeling of conviction
I had become a slave to the beauty
To the stripdown
Of an enthusiastic suffering

Strangling beneath
The hands of screaming voices
I saw you, and felt you
As a past veered through my future
Through something old, something new
Something borrowed, something used
Down to my central soul, my innerness

I had forgotten to understand anything
How to stand alone, without fear
I became my fear, and saw nothingness
Only to feel a meaningless black
Failed to remember that I was written
And untouched by nothing of my past

Now I see you, once again
Standing where you've always been
I see you and your words of age
Laughing, crying, and screaming
Lingering and steading with a purpose,
Interpreting the sublime

I see you...
And your untouchable face, unfolding
