Time brings all things to ruin
Time brings all things to ruin,
Life moves only forward, the past, long dead,
Holds on to long-since faded tunes
Sung by those whose souls have fled
And yet those songs are often heard
Ecchoing through these dusty halls
Days long passed still have their word
Within these mouldering walls
Perhaps those stones may still remember
The people who once bided there
The grate recalls the long-cooled embers
That crackled in the long-staled air
If only those long-dead tenants knew
Their castle proud's most troubled fate
What would they think if they could see
Their building in its presentstate?
