From far away I saw your face

Maybe in a pencil sketch

Or maybe in a photo

But nonetheless one day

I’ll find you, and grab

That face for myself

Hold the head behind it

Tight against my breast

And never let it go.

I think that’d probably “embarrass” you (haha)

But whatever it is

I’m determined you won’t be

Far away anymore

If I draw and draw

Until the pencil’s dull

I won’t find you that way.

But if I set out determined

Surely I’ll find you some way.
