Okay, so this isn’t really a new chapter … in fact, it’s an author’s note, and the best way I could think of to let everyone who has been following FLG/AiL and is waiting for an update know that I’m putting Accidentally in Love on hiatus (god I never thought I’d ever actually use that word about one of my stories, but here we are) because I am rewriting For the Love of the Game. It took me a couple years, but I finally figured out the real reason why I just couldn’t seem to bring myself to revisit those characters: FLG was, let’s face it, something short of a train wreck, if not that, and I can’t continue writing the sequel until I’ve rewritten the original into a much better story. I can’t continue to write a sequel in which the original plot had so many holes and the characters were so one-dimensional. I re-read FLG again last night, and every chapter seriously made me cringe and I wondered how I ever thought this could pass off as good writing. However, this doesn’t detract from how grateful I am to all of you, my readers, who have followed my writing, supported the stories, reviewed, cheered on my characters, and gave me another reason to love writing.

I apologize for taking this long to figure it all out, but I think that this is the best way for me to be able to finish Morgan’s story, because hers deserve s to be told. I have already started planning the rewrite of For the Love of the Game (something I didn’t really do when I started writing the original), and am planning on spending the rest of my summer writing. It will NOT be like the original, so if you actually liked the way I went about writing that one, you might not want to read the new one. But I hope many of you will want to check out the new FLG whenever it comes out. It will feature the same characters, but be told differently. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask and I will definitely try to get back to you within a week. Suggestions are welcome as well - is there something that you’d like to see that wasn’t in the first story (or even that you want to save from the first story)? I haven’t completely set the plot in stone yet, so if there’s something you want to read, just let me know and I’ll see if I can work it in. And yes, before you ask, there will be more football. That is a must.

Again, thank you for all the love and support – without you guys, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have wanted to write half what I’ve got posted on FP. If you’re bored in the meantime, I’ll be working on several one-shots in between rewriting FLG, so keep looking out for those!
