Chiaroscuro

Allow me to feign ignorance for just one more night
Let me lay my head back and bask in the dim light obscured by shadow
Tonight I will curl my fingers in a tight fist
Close my eyes and just fade…just fade away

Slowly my mind unwinds and my daytime problems cease to exist
As I allow my imagination free reign over my body and delicate mind
I no longer wish to exist to the outside world
Clothe me in silk and suspicion
Allow me to run wild cloaked in freedoms daring disguise

For I am a weary prisone
Too tired to run free of my own desire
Therefore feel open to master me as you please
Lead me astray into the darkest crevices of my mind

I am no monster despite the fact that I grow weary of my cross
And no longer wish to bury my secrets in vain
Next to nothing I cannot be allowed to release the potential of my reckless desires
Teach me to master my own fractured heart
Piece together the jagged uneven pieces as you would a childhood puzzle
Allow me to feel my ruined heart and then after all that is said and done
Help me please to move on
