A little something I wrote when I should have been revising Shakespearean Sonnets. I guess I got inspired. It’s a sonnet written in the Shakespearean form, though I think the rhythm goes a bit wrong at times. It is my first attempt though so be kind! The sentiments expressed in these lines are true.
Do you know how often I think of you?
Your sweet soft face seeping into my mind,
Chased by rippling laughter. And do
You understand the torment of your kind
Remarks, whose very utterance propels
A jolt through my body which, being sent,
Demands that I dumbly crave to be held
And kissed until my kisses all are spent?
And though my love’s so deep it has no end,
It is not true, for truth requires certainty,
A certainty which you refuse to lend.
There still you stand, observing from above,
Yet with one breath could you fulfil my love.
