BATTLES AND BROKEN

Breath and blood

Sword and flesh

The battle rages on

Through nights and days

The humanity is gone

The nights like puppets

The kings their puppeteers

Fight battles for men of wealth

And women’s husbands’ life’s lost

Before the enemy the knelt

Breath and blood

Bone, screams and broken hearts

These battles rage till no one can fight

Even though there is no cause

They carry on through the night
