Afterword

This is the second story I've ever finished, the first one being "The Edge of the Storm" back in 2004. I'd similarly left a lot of plot threads hanging back then, and had promised a sequel. To my credit, I did start working on it (Lunar Eclipse), but after just a few chapters, it was cancelled. The story went through all manner of edits, and eventually wound up as "Aiua."

Here I am again, only now I've left even more hanging, and with no guarantee that I'll have time to work on the sequel in the near future. I promise I'll get to it as soon a possible, though, and with any luck I'll actually finish it.

It's been an interesting fifteen months. When I began in May '05, I had a very clear idea of where I wanted Aiua to go and was churning out chapters fairly regularly- then, Summer ended and I didn't work on it again for a year. By the time I picked it up again, the entire story had changed and I was on the verge of canceling whatever I'd written entirely.

Instead, you all got saddled with a massive retcon :). Hope it was enjoyable.

A quick look at the review section will make this one obvious, but I can't possibly give enough thanks to Anthony (Master Chief) and Justin (MiroFTW). They've been great in every way, be it for unloading truckloads of ideas upon over AIM conversations, combing through each and every chapter since the first one for problems, and for the endless cheering on. This is something that gets thrown around a lot, but without their support I doubt I would have remained interested enough to see Aiua through to the end- they made it possible.

So now that's done. When I get to work on the sequel, you'll know- hope to see you again then.

Up, up and away!
