The red softly blends
Within the crisp brown,
Its gold crusted veins
Defined by the sun’s ray.

An autumn leaf.

The once soft breeze
Bursts with life,
Pulling the leaf in its wake,
Following, it soars in the darker sky.

Mesmerising, Enchanting,
A magical trail of dust,
Like something of a fairy tale.

See now, how it gently
Begins its descent.
The wind having played with it,
Lets it rest.

Tenderly on the calm surface,
Reds, browns and gold sit
On the ever changing shades of the lake.
