hey, i know its been foever since i updated this, and this chap is rei short - sorry, but i was just in the mood to write a bit more, so i hope you like.

Three

“Trust me it was for you own good.” I protested. Thinking fast for a quick get away. I looked to Eric for help, but he was too busy drooling over Elena being within a metre of him. I swear he was actually glued to the spot, his mouth wide open. Automatically I wanted to wave a hand in front of his eyes, Elena glaring at me, however somehow distracted me.

“Your so infuriating.” She moaned and I couldn’t help but notice her fists clench at her sides. “When will you get it into that thick skull of yours that I don’t need or want your protection?” she yelled. She took a deep breath before swinging around on her heel and storming off.

I let out a breath I hadn’t realised I’d been holding. “That was better than I expected.” I thought aloud. Eric appeared next to me and ruffled my hair.

“Your sister is one tough nut.” He agreed.

“Pft, some help you were, I think we should call the caretaker, to clean that pool of your drool up, before someone slips and sues.” I smiled teasingly; Eric went slightly pinker than usual. I turned and started walking, and could tell that Eric was relived of the embarrassment. It got to me that he was too shy sometimes, because everyone can see what a great couple they would make. Not to mention the fact that he was one of the best-looking guys in our year. Which shocked me because, he’s normally Elena’s type, I think it was just the fact that he wasn’t bad assed enough for her to pay any attention.

I sighed, as we walked.

“What’s up?” Eric asked, I shrugged and then shook my head.

“Nothing, just thinking about… my next psychology assignment.” I lied.

“Oh. Don’t let it get to you man, your so smart you could do it under the influence of ten pints.” He replied, trying to cheer me up, “speaking of which you are coming to Craig’s party on Friday night aren’t you?” he asked. Craig was a well-known partier, and you only had to look at him to know that. What with his untamed brown hair, and the way that he acted – always-hyper active if you asked me. He regularly held parties, coming up with any excuse to have them. He even held one for an Italian holiday, for Elena and me of course.

“Sure,” I answered, it wasn’t like I had anything better to do, “what’s the occasion?”

“I think it’s for a new student, but I could be wrong, I mean who knows when it comes to Craig?” he laughed. Luckily for Craig he lived with his stepfather, who loved him so much, he welcomed the party atmosphere. That or he was just trying to make Craig feel better, since his father left for another country and his mother died a couple of years ago, you’d never think it to look at him though, like I said a natural party animal. Unless of course he just acted that way to cover his real thoughts up.

A couple of student’s head’s picked up at the mention of Craig’s party, as we passed them. His parties were always the best, shall we say his stepfather was well, loaded. Not to mention they were the hippest thing, and everyone who was anyone went to them. Each one was different; making them exciting each time, despite the fact that he had so many. Come to think of it, it had been at least a month since his last one.

I headed for the canteen, with Eric not really hungry but it was good as any place to go to during my free period. At this time of the day, it was pretty quiet, so we sat down in a corner talking about what we were going to wear at the party.

“Hey guys,” a voice greeted, I looked up to see Craig falling down on the seat next to me. We were sat next to a particularly large window, and he wolf whistled as a cute looking girl went past. “Did you see -?”

“Yes, Craig.” I cut in, not really wanting to go into details of the short skirt and low cut top the girl had been wearing. I turned away from the window and looked instead at Craig, his messy hair was falling into his hazel eyes. He wore baggy dark jeans and a baggy navy top that had an unfamiliar logo on. He gave a low whistle, and motioned with his eyes for me to turn around and look. Rolling my eyes I slowly turned. I got a shock when Elena was stood there, I assume she was waiting for a friend; luckily she didn’t see me, as I quickly turned back.

“Your sister is hot man.” Craig stated. I could see from the corner of my eye that Eric had gone pink around the ears.

“So your party on Saturday. What’s it for again?” I asked changing the subject for Eric’s sake. He mouthed a thank you, and encouraged the new subject adding:

“Its for a new chick isn’t it?” Craig nodded.

“Yeah, your both coming aren’t you?” he continued, motioning his hands to signal us both. We nodded in response. “Nice one wouldn’t be the same with out you too. I’ve got more people on my back to come.” He rolled his eyes, and winked. “But yeah its for a new lass, she starts today, I saw her first thing, telling her about the party and how she’s the guest of honour. And let me tell you guys, she’s hot, but she seemed kinda shy about the party, so I’ve taken it into my host duties to ensure she comes, and feels more than welcome.” He smiled and winked again. I knew that he wouldn’t force her into anything though, he might act that way, but Craig was a good guy. “So I’ll see you both there?” he said getting up to leave.

“Definitely.” Eric and I answered in union.

“Good.” And started to leave before adding one last comment, “oh and Delio, do me a favour and make sure Elena comes, with some of her mates.” I nodded, but my face fell as he walked away. Great just great, I doubt very much that Elena was in the mood to do me any favours.

I got up sighing, Eric gave me a sympathetic look, but I knew that he was hoping and praying that she would go, not that he’d make a move. I decided to head to the library, before my last psychology lesson.

“See you later.” I said to Eric, before leaving.

“Bye.”
