Wind whispers softly unto my still heart;

Roses bloom ev'ry time you speak to me.

Time stands still for you and I, this calm night.

Groping in the dark for something to hold,

Stumbling down the stairs, your arm in mine,

We mutter inaudible words again;

and laugh silently at an inside joke.

He and I slide into the car, and drive.

Nervously, I offer a new topic.

He accepts, clueless as always.

I slurred the forbidden words anxiously.

Shocked, he thanked me, and I almost cried out.

At home we gazed into each other's eyes,

Knowing it was one of our last; we kissed.
