Forbidden Lovers

In the sun-bleached forest, I stood with you,

Hand in hand, in a passionate embrace.

As the sun began to set, you promised me your life,

Saying we’ll always be together,

Even though it wasn’t supposed to be.

I was be betrothed to someone else,

But you’ll always be my only love.

The sun sank beyond the mountains as we said our goodbyes,

With butterfly kisses as soft as the wind.

Somehow, someday, I’ll be with you.

And until then, my love, I must tell you goodbye.
