Love. Crime.

The painful unveilings of Aphrodite—

Jealousy, rage, passion,

Succumb to the flesh of many people.

Masks of many colors and hues—

Blue, red, yellow grey

Mix together to make tainted black.

Childish antics scream in delight.

Widows mourn sweet, missing warmth.

Beside tables lay filled with pictures.

Missing figures parade the empty streets.

Lit with gas lamps,

Rum and booze redden cheeks

And moans and yells echo the silent night.

Silken sheets soaked with sweat,

Entwining bodies in a forbidden dance,

Drops of gleaming liquid slide through gates.

Murmurs of lovely nothings melt hearts

And deafen ears. Blinded sights drop the faithful hands.

Money lavished at the red district—

Painted lips, powdered cheeks, and lined eyes

Puckered rouge caress and seduce

Unforgiving to lovers.

Doubtful hearts encased in stone

Slit and cut through skin.

Poisoned tongues breed stupid thoughts.

Drugged anxiety cried out over and over.

Again and again the roaring rain

Dripped blood red water.

Broken lamps and clear windows

Shower multicolored lights.

Reflected hard eyes and body splash.

Knives and ending of arrows of Eros.

There it goes.
