I had a dream about you last night
You were with me
Laughing, though I couldn’t hear you
Patting me on the head, but I couldn’t feel it
Featureless, I couldn’t see
Loving me, and I was truly happy
But as the night wore on
Your hugs melted
Into the coming dawn
And the last tendrils of warmth
Were only the sunlight you weren’t a part of.
I continue to live on another day without you
