Wander out.

I stand alone.

Listening to the silence around me.

My mind races,

But a part of me

Slows and gives in

To the siren call of night.

Rest is what she bids

And a gentle melody plays

As she calms the wearied soul of those that listen.

The warm breeze of summer,

The cool wind of autumn,

The chilly bite of winter,

She uses to help the tired nerves

Of one so worn.

So, standing here,

I ponder much,

But then the cares of the next day find me,

And, staring into the darkness,

I turn and listen to the counsel of the night.
