Not So Perfect Now

Designer jeans and
Perfect hair
Make – up, lipstick
Applied with care

Friends are forever
Schools not cool
8 O’clock curfews
Parties and pool

No smoking, drugs
Nor alcohol too
You still to young
They’re bad for you

Elementary school
Then Grade eight grad
You’re still the kid
Who follows the fad

Little maturing then
High school fun
Truant students
No work gets done

But you’re still perfect
Your parents think
You changed so fast
All I did was blink

Now your on grass highs
And heroine bliss
And now your in hospital
All the fun you will miss

Suddenly your out
No difference there
Make – up, lipstick
And perfect hair

Medication abused
Circling again
Guess you’re not so perfect
Only slightly sane

But no one sees
Or no one acts
They’ve denied the obvious
They’re denying the facts

More teen statistics
More hope lost
We can only dream
Your life isn’t the cost
