Selfish Prayer

Kneeling at the side of my bed
With my hands hanging on to each other
A little selfish prayer before I go to sleep
With a hint of tears of god know what

Please don’t let my love ones get hurt
Please don’t put them in any troubles
Let their tests be not too harsh
And please guide them to pass it

For this love ones are everything to me
Although I have only realized it
With them I know I’m blessed
And with them I’m very thankful

I don’t want them to get hurt
For I know that I’ll be in pain too
I don’t want them to suffer
For I’ll feel it in two folds

I’m not fond of praying
But for them I’ll try and try again
A selfish prayer before I go to sleep
To wipe away the tears of god know what
