Days

Bitter winter turns to spring,
Frost melts and snow drops bloom,
Sapphire skies usher out cold crystal
And dawn steps forward in time.
Night and day pass in an endless cycle,
The sun constantly rises and falls,
Clock hands rotate on their axis
Each second I’m closer to you.
Yet so many days still separate us,
Months keep us apart,
The drip of the clock is a torture,
Your absence a weight on my chest.
I long to see you before me,
I long to take you in my arms,
I ache to kiss your rose-petal lips,
Only then will I feel the warmth.
