Revenge on Failure

Jack and Tokyo

Alright, I admit it. I know everybody’s has had problems in this department, but you have to admit, I’m the worst of the lot. Hell, I’m admitting to that. Not everybody can be one hundred percent successful, but who – besides me – gets a big fat zero in it?

That’s right. Nobody.

I’m such a failure; I don’t even know where to start. I guess the most logical explanation is to start from the beginning, right? Well, I guess that my story starts off with my first serious boyfriend, Jack.

I suppose you can say that I was extremely happy with him. I was the happiest when I was with him at that point in my life. I’m not sure why, but, something drove him away from me. I noticed that something was off after a while.

I couldn’t quite place it – and still can’t – but I knew something wasn’t right between us. I think he must have seemed more distant to me or something. I was curious as to what was wrong, so I went behind his back and to his best friend.

I asked him if he knew what was up and his face change immediately. He did not want to tell me something. I kept on pestering and persisting up until the point where he just broke down and told me.

It left me in shock and fury! What I heard from Jack’s friend completely floored me! That bastard!

I growled a thanks to him through my gritted teeth and flew out the door to get back to the apartment Jack and I shared.

Oh, he was going to have it!

I burst through the door, still fuming in my outrage, and demanded the truth from him. I screeched so loud at him that the entire apartment complex could probably hear.

“FINE! You want the truth!” he screamed at me. I didn’t respond. I only glared. “Yes, it’s true! And she’s a hell of a lot better than you!”

I got my answer. He really was cheating on me. Didn’t matter after a few minutes of thinking it over after he left the apartment. He told me he was going to leave now and wouldn’t be back until Tuesday. The day this happened was on Thursday. I had four days to get my stuff and move out.

So I did.

I did get my stuff packed and out of there in three days actually. But first things first, I decided. I picked up his phone and called up a number in Tokyo, I don’t remember what it was now. Then I left it off the hook.

I checked in early Tuesday morning, it was still there as I had left it. I’m pretty sure he expected to find the place trashed from my rage. I was very tempted to do so, at first, but I restrained.

Obviously, I figured out a better way to get some revenge. I admit I would have simply loved to see his face when he opened the phone bill.

Remember though, Jack was only the first of many. Allow me to tell you the rest of my story of my failure and revenge.
