Pain and Denial

Summary: For everyone who has lost someone in any wars or will in future wars. Warning it is angst, a lot of angst. Don’t read please if you aren’t ready or like a lot of angst.

Pain hurts

But in time it starts to heal

It won’t be forgotten

Can’t be forgotten

But it will heal

It just takes time

Curling into herself she let the tears fall. Not seeing anything or anyone she cried. She cried for her loss, for the pain, the fear. She cried for her lover, his family, his friends, the world. She let out a wail that turned into a scream as she denied the truth. She denied it with every breath of her body but it didn’t make the pain any less real.

Her best friend/lover was dead. Doing his duty for the country he had perished, protecting his children. She screamed as she clutched the medals she had been given in his name. No one could say anything. They were full of their own grief.

It hurt and while she knew it would get a little better as time goes on it didn’t right then. Her soul had cut in half and she couldn’t do anything about it but mourn.

-In remembrance of all the soldiers, civilians, reporters, etc

we have lost in this war, the past, and the future wars to come.

May you know people are thinking of you in these trouble times.

No matter how many are lost, if no one knows every name,

you have touched us all. Your sacrifices are not in vain.

Bless you all in the name of God and his loving son.
