Prologue

Long ago, in a land not known to this world, there was a kingdom named Morgretar. It’s existence was only for one sole purpose; to take the elementals’ powers.

Many elementals were horrifically captured and none were seen alive again, for their very souls were ripped from them by only one man; Morgretar’s ruler, King Eamonandi. Because of the power in the elementals, his physical and mental strength became stronger and stronger, giving him the eventual ability to overthrow and conquer many cities and nations.

The rest of the elementals fled, not wanting to be captured by the cruel King. They turned and fled to the forest becoming a hidden nation, enchanting the trees and earth to make themselves invisible. They gave themselves names; the Ilandere, Dragons of the Elements.

Knowing that they needed a leader, the Ilandere people appointed Abnidai, old and wise, Elemental of all elements. A few of the hidden nation even gave him some of their own soul as an act of loyal service, hopefully giving him the ability to bring the Morgretar nation apart and free the world once more.

Once the city was created, the Ilandere began training to try and get stronger. But, several years later, they were none the stronger or more powerful from whence they first began. Their population had even decreased, for the Kingdom of Ilandere had no female elementals; all perished from Eamonandi’s wrath.

Soon, there were only ten Ilandere left; Abnidai, Dragon of the Elements; Thorn, Dragon of Earth; Pierce, Dragon of Fire; Brethen, Dragon of Thunder; Corrin, Dragon of Ice; Core, -Corrin’s twin- Dragon of Water; Cahsae, Dragon of Light; Morrin, Dragon of Darkness; Iam, Dragon of Air; and Balim, Dragon of Force.

All ten of the Dragons gathered together in counsel, debating among themselves what to do.

“I say we go into the city and take a mortal woman to wed and bear children,” the Dragon of Force suggested.

Abnidai shook his bald head. “No,” said he, “we must not take mortals from the nations. That is where they belong and we cannot mix races.”

“Well then what should we do, O Great One?” asked Thorn, Dragon of Earth.

Abnidai stroked his white beard and thought. Finally, he spoke, saying, “We must bring this before a power greater than mine. Go now, brothers, and pray to the Yahweh for a miracle.”

The counsel nodded their agreement and the meeting adjourned, leaving the Elementals to return to their tents for meditation and prayers.

During the night, the Yahweh caused them to be put in a deep sleep and spoke to them, telling them what his was doing while they slept. So, from their sides, he took from each of them, a rib, and from it formed women with each element. He sculpted only nine women, though, for only Abnidai could possess the power of all the elements, shared with only Yahweh and him.

The next morning, the Yahweh finished the women. Seeing that they were good, he gave them life and clothed them, then sent them to the tents of their husbands whom had already been united to them by bone and element.

Waking from their deep sleep and seeing the women, they took them and bed with them, knowing their prayers had been answered and that there would be heirs to their elements and the Ilandere race.
