A young man of about twenty-one years stepped out of the college library. He had shaggy, brown hair and deep blue eyes. He was about 6’6”. He walked in the dark of the night towards his car, which seemed to be just about the last one in the parking lot. The man stopped suddenly when he heard a noise, looking around he saw nothing, so he continued on. Suddenly, someone pounced on him causing him to fall on the ground and drop his bag that contained all his medical books. The person brought an arm down on his head so he was not able to bring his head up off the cold, hard parking lot ground.
“Don’t even think about moving, Keith Baden, or I will shoot.” A gruff voice said and Keith could feel the man pushing something into his back.
“You don’t want to do this.” Keith said trying to stall his attacker from whatever he was planning on doing, pretty sure it was the college killer.
“Why not? You seem like the perfect specimen for my experiment. Your brain would work perfectly.” The voice said, but Keith knew that it was not the killer, for the gruff voice that had been there was now slowly going away through spurts of laughter.
“Charles Handet, I am going to KILL YOU!” Keith shouted at his friend who was on the parking lot ground, laughing hysterically.
“Hey, I had to get your attention somehow.” Charles said when he could break long enough from laughing.
“You could have called my name out or called my cell phone.” Keith replied heatedly.
“Yeah, but what would have been the fun in that?”
“So you risk your life just so that you could try to scare me?”
“Did it work?” Charles asked, smiling as he started walking towards Keith’s car, while Keith picked up his books and put them back in his bag.
“Nope, now give me my keys, Charlie.” Keith said as he searched through his jean pockets, finding nothing, but his wallet, some coins, and some paper. He thought Charlie was playing another joke on him and had pick pocketed his keys.
“I don’t have them. You probably left them back in the library.” Charlie said, he was calming down now.
“I’ll be right back.” Keith said and ran towards the steps of the library.
As he walked towards the door of the library he suddenly heard Charlie scream. The first time was just a scream, but the second one he was calling out for Keith to help him. This made Keith decide to forget about the keys and go help his friend. He would hot wire the car if he needed to make a quick getaway.
When he reached the top of the steps he could see a man with a blade of some sort standing over Charlie. Keith tried to run towards him to help, but strangely his legs would not move. He wanted to help him, but all he could do was watch as his friend was killed right before his very eyes.
