My Super Hero 9-?-01 (a little after 9-11)
My super heroes are the ones that aren‘t really mentioned, but are never forgotten (at least not by me);
My super heroes don’t have what you may call “super powers”, but they still can save the day;
My super heroes aren’t the men in black, but wear red, white, gold, silver, green, orange, yellow, tan, purple and blue (and some times black);
My super heroes might not be found in comic books, but on any street in any town;
My super heroes don’t live in the orbiting watchtower with the Justice League, but live far way lands or close to home;
My super heroes aren’t in Saturday morning cartoons, but they are in the news all the time;
My super heroes aren’t immortal, but still risk it all every day;
My super heroes aren’t cowards, but are courageous and fearless heroes that protect, save and help others without being asked;
My super heroes don’t ever give in, but fight on till the end, no matter what;
My super heroes don’t wear masks to hide their identities, but let all know who they are;
My super heroes are those every day people that do their jobs without regret;
They are firemen and women, policemen and women, security guards, hospital workers, soldiers, veterans and parents that give the most precious and valuable thing, without one regret or second thought;
My super heroes are the very valued men and women that give their lives for me and you;
To my super heroes I would like to say, “Thank you for your generous gift. I am proud that I get to live amongst the greatest heroes in the world. And I hope that some day I can be at least half as great as you;
Thank you for your courage, dependability and bravery that I may live another day knowing you’ll always be there when we need you;
Thank you for being my different kind of super heroes! May you never be forgotten!”
