Chapter Two:

“The Chaos Theory is a computer program that’s able to bring about destruction and/or peace. It wasn’t meant to overload, it wasn’t meant to split into the human world and have only 2 human beings interacting with the other humans. The world isn’t meant to have these two being out of control and on the loose.”

How do you stop something that’s supposedly unstoppable? And how do you overcome something you’re told you’re never allowed to do?

(May 1st, 2018)

I sat at the small, tightly cramped desk and glared at the people staring back at me. I absolutely hated being here but it was the only way I could find that “Theory” guy. It was rumored that he was a student attending this same school and it was my goal to find him.

“Yuri!” a girlish sounding voice giggled. I glanced sideways and found an interesting person staring towards me. A young male, I think, sat there with a wide smile, showing off his white teeth. He wore the school uniform; a button down black blazer jacket with a white trim around the edges and the usual dark black pants.

“What do you want?” I sighed, resting my chin on my hand. He smiled widely and looked towards the board. I followed my eye and noticed something unusually out of the corner of my eye. But I chose to ignore it, hoping that it wouldn’t happen again.

oOooOooOooOooOo

I slid my shirt over my head, blankly ignoring the other girls’ talk about mindless things. It was something they talked about every single day. But something about their words today had me stopping right in the middle of dressing.

“That new Ryan guy is so hot! He’s so cute!” one squealed and another followed suit. I glanced over towards them, waiting for them to say something else. I tugged at the hem of the shirt and straightened it out. Then I reached under the cool material and readjusted my annoying bra.

“What about you, Yuri? What do you think of the new guy?” one of the girls, I think her name was Amanda, asked me while trying hard not to jump up and down. I gave a sheepish smile and scratched the back of my head.

“He seems all right; but I’m kind of a picky person, too. He is sort of cute.” I said, and I heard her give a snort and waved her hand to me.

“He’s not “sort of cute”, he’s drop-dead-gorgeous!” she nearly screamed out, the other girls joining in. I cringed at their loud voices and tried to block out what they were saying again.

‘I just hope this “Ryan” isn’t that one I have to keep an eye on. I found it was quite challenging to deal with that guy.” I reached up and stuck my two chopsticks into my hair as I pulled my black hair into a bun. I hated whenever I had to dye my hair so hardly anyone would recognize me. It was something the government wanted me to do after I got off a mission and I didn’t fight them over it.

OOooOOooOOooOO

The bell rang, signaling us that both class and school were out. I filed after the other girls, defiantly ignoring all their mindless chatters.

“Let me get this straight; you want some valuable information but no one can break the security system.” I repeated, raising an eyebrow. Five of the dark clothed guys nodded, holding out different papers needed to get inside. I grabbed the closest one and scanned over it, trying to figure out how to get inside.

“It’s not gonna be an easy task, that much I can tell you. But I’ll try to gain the intelligence and get it back to you.” I told them, glancing down at the papers once more. They nodded and I turned to leave the dark room.

“Be careful; there’s rumors that that Theory guy is one of the security guards. Don’t let your guard down around him.” one of the men said, giving me a sincere look. I nodded again towards him and slipped out of the tiny room.

I knew my job well enough to know when I was defiantly in deep shit. Those guys weren’t kidding when they said it was a tough job. I slipped along the dark corridor, fingers trailing along the wall. Different textures met my awaiting skin as I crept closer. I wanted this assignment more than anything in the world (something that is rare for me). Something deep inside of me seemed to connect with this Theory guy. As if he knew me and I didn’t even know it. I couldn’t understand it, I couldn’t place it anywhere.

Something clunked in the distance, catching my perfect ears. I froze and pressed myself tight against the wall. The dark hallway seemed to get darker and closer together. For a moment, I blinked and I could see the walls moving. I swallowed, feeling the sharp closure from the movement.

“Something told me you’d be back,” a voice whispered, registering in my mind as Theory. I licked my dry lips and managed to duck to my side as his blade slid through the air above me. The blade rang loudly in my ears as it came down near me again. Skin pricked and puckered upwards as a cut formed itself on my wrist. Crimson blood flowed freely for only three moments, then the wound closed and I snapped my attention back to Theory.

“Ah, the first cut,” Theory whispered and I found his voice had lowered and sounded more husky. For a moment, my vision blurred and I felt myself falling. His chilling voice cut through the layers of heaviness.

“Your pen has been broken, Chaos. You are separating from it.” he hissed as the pen that had found its way into my fingers burst. Ink spilled backwards and I watched the tiny, round beads flow past me and upon my skin.

I flew into the wall, my back screaming in pain when I hit. Lights flashed before my eyes and Theory’s form slithered into view. His eyes seemed to gleam as he stood over me. His lips moved and I couldn’t understand what he was saying. I felt my eyelids closing slowly as he bent closer and I could feel the chill of his voice.

“Goodnight, Chaos.”

Author's Notes:

I'm sorry for such a late update!! Gomen! I had some trouble trying to write out the 2nd chapter of this story due to many things. On top of things, I lost all inspiration and lost all the data for the chapter so I had to start from scratch.

So, have patience with me, considering I'm swamped with a crap load of things. I barely have any time to sleep but I wrote this special chapter for everyone just to show I'm alive!

Gomen again!
