“Ugh,” Alexis moaned while wiping her mouth “I swear, throwing up has to be the worst part.”

She flushed the toilet and washed her mouth out before heading back to bed.

“I can’t wait until you finally pop out,” She smiled and rubbed her belly “I don’t know much about being a mother but I bet you’ll teach me.”

Alexis had grown from being frightened as hell to really looking forward to having a baby.

“Alexis,” Eric spoke deeply from the door causing her to jump slightly “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, it was just a little sickness,” She answered “Was I that loud?”

“No, I was in the kitchen and thought I heard someone.”

“I’m okay now,” Alexis assured “You can go back to bed.”

“Did you need me to stay with you?”

“Not tonight,” She smiled lightly “But thanks anyway.”

“No problem,” Eric nodded “Goodnight.”

Alexis sighed. Normally she would have gratefully accepted Eric’s offer but tonight she wanted to sleep with her and her little family to come.

“Except one person’s missing,” She frowned, eyeing her cell phone and then the clock “It’s two in the morning, he’s probably asleep.”

Alexis contemplated for a few minutes before grabbing her phone. The silence between her and Logan had gone on for too long and it was aching her everyday.

“If he still loves me he’ll answer.” She spoke, dialing the numbers with her nervous fingers.

It rang three times and Alexis began to lose hope but didn’t hang up.

“Mm, hello.”

Her voice caught in her throat and she thought about shutting the phone.

“Al-Alexis?” Logan called, sounding more awake than ever “Alexis, is that you?”

She wanted to answer but her mouth wouldn’t utter a word.

“Alexis,” He repeated hopeful “Please if you’re there say something, please, don‘t hang up!”

“Logan.” She croaked, thankful that her body finally let her speak.

“Your voice,” He whispered “Is the sweetest thing I’ve heard in so long.”

Alexis smiled to herself.

“I’ve wanted to call you every since that day,” Logan confessed “But I was so scared.”

“So was I.”

“But you called.” He stated.

“And I’m not sure what to say.”

“It doesn’t matter,” He assured her “Just knowing that you’re okay is more than enough.”

Alexis sighed and touched her small bump.

“You are okay, aren’t you?”

“Yeah,” She answered softly, now rubbing her tummy affectionately “We’re okay.”

“Is someone with you?”

“No, why?”

“You said we’re okay,” He explained softly “I didn’t know.”

“I’m alone.” She confirmed.

“I think about you all the time.” Logan confessed.

“Then what stopped you from calling?”

“The thought of you not wanting to speak to me,” He answered, inhaling deeply “Alexis, it kills me to think of being forever without you.”

“Logan,” She sobbed “I’m sorry things didn’t go like we wanted them to, but-.”

“I still love you, Alexis, more than anything,” Logan interrupted strongly “Please don’t give up on us.”

“I’m not,” Alexis sniffed and dried her eyes “I can’t.”

“Wh-what does that mean?”

“Did Devon give you an invitation to my mom’s wedding?”

“Yeah, I didn’t realize it was so close.”

“In two days,” She smiled softly “Are you coming?”

“I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to or not.”

“I do,” Alexis assured “I have something to show you.”

“I can drive over right n-.”

“No,” She protested “I mean, I just rather wait is all.”

“Okay,” Logan accepted “Anything you want.”

Alexis sighed in relief. She still had some time to figure out how to tell Logan.

“Riley really misses you.”

“How is he?”

“He’s alright,” Logan sighed “Travis keeps him sane.”

Alexis laughed gently.

“That’s beautiful,” He spoke sincerely “To hear you laugh.”

“Don’t make me cry.” She whispered, wiping the water brimming at her eyes.

“I’m sorry,” Logan replied “I just wanted you to know.”

“Thank you.”

“I just can’t wait to finally see you.”

She smiled to herself and accidentally yawned.

“I heard that.” He joked.

“It slipped out.”

“I understand,” Logan responded “It is pretty late anyway.”

“Yeah,” She agreed “But I-I’m glad we talked, I really miss it.”

“So do I,” He replied “Is it okay if I call you tomorrow?”

“Yeah, I’d like that.”

“Great,” Logan complimented “Goodnight, Alexis.”

“Night, Logan.” She smiled before hanging up.

Alexis sighed and caressed her belly.

“I think we’re all going to be okay.” She confirmed while closing her eyes a drifting to sleep.
