. me in.::.
Well hello, this is my first story in I point of view and in present tense so if you see any mistakes in that direction please let me know.
I ussually don't write these types of plot and for me it's just practise with I point of view and other grammer times. But nontheless I hope you guys like that and I hope I'll be able to update soon.
xx Whisper
Have you ever felt like you were struck by lightning. Even when it wasn’t raining? Actually it is a pretty sunny day. Warm too. 21 Degrees Celsius I see as I check the inside small computer thingy (I don’t know what it’s called!) that is connected to the thermometer outside. That’s nice. Not extremely high for the end of August though. But it has been extremely windy in the last couple of days.
Right, back to the train of thoughts I had a few minutes ago. Struck by lightning. You see a few minutes ago it seems that my best friend, Lisanne, decided that it was about time to inform me of the fact that she has a boyfriend. I was speechless when I read it. Still am! I mean there were no hints at all. No mention of a specific guy, no love sick looks, no sighs. No signs!
Apparently Lisanne decides that I’ve been quiet enough for now and wants a reaction, because that annoying sound msn messenger makes when someone says something again after you’ve clicked outside the window, is currently ringing through my bedroom.
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Shani? You still there?
Shani, that’s me yeah. It’s actually Shannon. Shannon Crear. Yup that’s me. Go me. And no I can’t believe that!
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
You didn’t fall of your chair did you? I told you to hang on to something. Don’t you ever learn to listen to me?
Hey! That’s exactly what I tell her too.
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
Hey!
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Hi, right back at ya.
Ooooh miss smartypants.
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
Har har, very funny!
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Yeah I thought so too.
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
Miss smarytpants
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Thank you, I’ve learned from the best .
Yes she did. And the best just happens to be me (or her brother, but he doesn’t count). I happen to have a lot of the retorts she just gave me and many more up my sleeve. It’s just I don’t always use them. But anyway, I always hate it when people use it back at me. Annoys me endlessly. She knows that too, grr.
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
But who is the guy?!??!?!?!?!
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Do you remember that new guy that moved here at the end of the school year?
Yes I did. I remember he came from Sweden (at least I think he did). I never talked to him. Lie didn’t either as I can recall. He was immediately accepted by the popular crowd. Personally I think it was because of his good looks. He is pretty tall I recall, around 5.91 feet – 6.07 feet I’d guess. With dirty blond hair. It certainly wasn’t his personality that got him into that crowd. I snort. He once almost ran me over with his scooter. He didn’t even stop to make sure I was okay. What does that say over someone’s personality! Not that I would stop. A good thing that I don’t own a scooter then.
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
Marty Peters?
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Marcus Pesek!
Close enough.
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
What about him?
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
…….he’s my boyfriend!
“Eeeeh?”
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
I didn’t know you even knew he existed, let alone let him be your boyfriend. Have you even talked to him?
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Well obviously…. rolls eyes
Well these days I don’t think most people talk a lot in relationships. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Scott Body do much talking with his girlfriends unless talking these days means sticking your tongue down someone’s throat. I frown. When the dictionary gets updated with these trivial things, could someone please email me!
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
How did you meet him though? I mean I don’t think he magically appeared one day in front of you and went through his knees. There has to be some process. And more importantly: WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?!
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
I’m sorry hun. I just figured it be best to keep it to myself seeing it all happened around the time that Ty got sick.
I sigh. It was really sweet of her, but she should know by now she can tell my anything whenever, wherever. Ty is my nine year old brother. He has a weakened immune system basically and this summer he caught ammonia. He had to be kept in the hospital for a while. He had given us quite the scare. Just recently he had come home.
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
But to answer the rest of your questions, I met him that time at the mall when you were suppose to meet me, but you forgot….
Uhm oopsies? Oh well at least some good comes from my forgetfull mind.
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:I bumped into him and he dropped his soda over me. He apologized quite a lot. I think he felt quite guilty. He helped me clean it up and even offered to buy me a new shirt. After that he stayed with me while I waited for you -pointed look-
Oh well I’m sorry geez…..wait he didn’t care he almost killed me but he is so sorry that he dumped his soda on Li?
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Well you didn’t show up so I spend the rest of the day with him and in the end he asked me out. We went to a movie that week and it was wonderful, Shani. He’s so sweet and tender and caring and
Shaney : It’s all so dark and mysterious says:
….and basically you are in love with the guy? That about right? Anyway Li, I am happy for you. He sounds great.
Hah I bet she’s blushing.
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
..yeah I guess.
...:: Li ::… OMFG, can you believe that says:
Hey, I have to go. Lunch! I’ll meet you at two in the park!
Well what a coincidence because I think I smell junk food downstairs. I lick my lips. Just as I want to type my goodbye, I see that Li has already logged out so I just click away the box and log out of my computer before I wander off, direction downstairs. I’m sure my parents will be glad to see their long lost daughter again.
And I do it again.
I tap my left foot impatiently.
I’m waiting and I’m rather annoyed if you hadn’t caught on already. You see, Li is late and that comes as quite a shock because Li is never late. And when I mean never I really mean never. That girl is Miss Punctual herself. A ticking alarm clock.
Plus I’m not a very good, patient waiter. Patience and me usually aren’t said in the same sentence.
Because it’s such a fine day, Friday, a lot of people are at the beach and not the park. Luckily that includes the tourists too. Now I realize and understand that their coming to our little town by the sea, provides a lot of work and money but does that give them the right to litter in our park? I thought not.
But because of that reason (the emptiness of the park) I hear some familiar voices. Familiar male voices and one in particular I wish I hadn’t heard. Ever!
Not that the owner of the voice is someone I hate…well not really, but the voice is just so..ugh you know. Now I realize that doesn’t explain it but you’ll just have to do with it.
“Hey Shady.” One of the other voices calls out. I turn around reluctantly.
A guy with messy black hair comes running towards me. He smiles widely at me, though a little out of breath when he reaches me. It’s a good thing he doesn’t play a sport. He wouldn’t last a minute.
“Hey Christopher.” I say. His blue eyes sparkled a little. He’s like this little puppy, glad with even the tiniest smile you give him. He has something so naïve about him. I guess, added with his reasonably good looks, it’s the reason why most girls legs melt when he greets them. I have to admit, at the beginning he had that effect on me too but then my parents gave me a puppy and it bit me, so it went away (the feeling, not the puppy!).
Bu the way, I know what you are thinking, a combination like black hair, blue eyes isn’t possible. Unless said black hair is dyed. It’s been this color for as long as I’ve known him which is since I turned twelve. I’m seventeen now, you do the math.
“How are you.” Christopher asks as he shoves his hands into his pockets.
“Yeah good I guess.” I answer. “Just waiting for Li. She’s late.” I add as I glare into the direction she usually comes from.
“Wow, Li is late?” He breathes out. “I didn’t know she could be late.”
Yeah well neither did I but then again I didn’t know she had a boyfriend either. No, I’m not still bitter about that. I didn’t even know I had been bitter about that. But apparently I am. “She’s probably moochy, moochy with her boyfriend on the phone.” I comment carelessly before wincing. I should not have said that. You see Li is quite the private person to the outside and Christopher is next to sweet also a blabbermouth. Just like me apparently…
“Lisanne has a boyfriend?”
I nod. “Yeah but please don’t tell anyone.” I plead then.
“Of course not.” You better not. I know where to find you, Christopher Wright. Oooh don’t I sound kick-ass.
Some of the guys he was standing with were hollering at him. Bunch of idiots. “I think you are wanted.” I state with a nod in the direction of the guys.
He merely shrugs at that. Something in his face changes all of a sudden. It’s as if something is bothering him, but I’m not particular close to him so I’m not the right person to question him about it. Even though he has always been really nice to me. “Yeah, I guess.” He comments finally before turning around in a reluctant manner. Half way in his turn, he turns his head back to me. “Hey you want to come wait for Lisanne with us. You could use my mobile to call her. It’s in my bag.” Does everyone know I don’t own a mobile phone?
I hesitate and he sees it because he puts on one of those charming, pleading looks. “Come one Shady.” I sigh. I don’t have a heart of stone and he knows thing. “You know you want too.” He adds with a wink.
I give in, snorting. “Fine, you win.”
“I always win.” He comments over his shoulder as he walks away from me.
I follow him, though a bit cautiously. What he said certainly held a certain truth. I had never seen him lose an argument or a discussion. Well if you don’t count that one time he lost a debate to Lukas McNeill who just happens to be his best friend.
We arrive at the guys and Christopher immediately grabs a bag from the floor and start rummaging through it. “Hold on.” He mutters after a while. Apparently he can’t find his own phone. I roll my eyes. Men…if only they had brains.
I take this time to look around me and I don’t mean at my surroundings. I know this park by heart. No, I look at the company.
First I see Scott Body. It’s hard not to notice him with the look he’s giving me. Is that drool..eeuw.
He’s the guy with the voice. Li says I overreact about it. It’s not so bad, she says. If you ever heard him I’m sure you’d agree with me. Plus I always find it hard to match him with his voice. As hard as it is to listen to him, as hard it is to look at him without drooling. Hey, I’m a girl, I see when a guy is hot. He has dark brown hair, messily hanging in front of his hazel eyes. When he smiles genuinely though, that’s when he is absolutely gorgeous. He gets these dimples and his eyes soften up quite a bit. As a soccer player he has a great form and I’d guess him around 5.74 ft/5.81 ft tall. Not that tall but he looks short compared to the guy next to him.
In the grass next to him sits Codi, who is at least 6.40 ft. He always makes me feel like a midget and I’m almost 5.58 ft. But he’s a nice guy. A dumb blond but a nice one so I don’t hold his lack of brain cells against him.
Then my gaze lands on the last guy, Marcus Pesek. Huh, so I guess she isn’t moochy, moochy with her boyfriend on the phone. He smiles at me shyly. “Hey.” His soft voice reaches me and it takes me quite a while to realize he’s talking to me. “Hi.”
“You’re Shannon right.” He asks, squinting his apple green eyes a little.
I nod.
“You’re Li’s friend.”
I nod again. God is that repetitive. “Best friend.” Now he nods before taking a sip from his coca cola can.
It’s silent for a while though I feel like snapping at Scott. Why the hell does he keep staring at me like that for? Oh well, it’s better then hearing him talk I suppose. The only thing I hear is Christopher who mutters something every now and again.
Marcus then attracts my attention again. He seems to hesitate about something before he finally seems to decide on it. “How is your brother?”
My mouth falls open. How does he know that? Besides family and Li no one knows it…well nobody I know anyway. I guess Li must’ve told him then.
He seems to notice my distress and mutters. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.”
“He’s fine.” I finally say though I don’t know why. I guess because of the fact Li told him. She certainly wouldn’t have told him if she didn’t trust him. It’s just me and my family don’t want everyone to know because we want people to treat him normally and not like he’s about the break just because there is something wrong with his immune system. The people that need to know, do know like teachers and mothers of playmates but other then that we prefer not to tell anyone. “He’s back home now.”
He nods understandingly, offering me a genuine smile. “That’s good.”
“Back home? Where did he go?” Codi asks surprised. “Or did something happen to the little guy?”
Despite the fact I had no clue how to answer him, I smile at him. It is just so cute that he refers to Ty as the little guy.
“I got it!” Christopher then chirps up with a bright smile on his face, shifting the attention from me to him. He holds up his Samsung. “Here, now you can call Li.”
I blink for a few seconds before finally taking it. Slowly I press in the numbers to Li’s house ending it with a press on the green telephone. As I wait for the phone to be picked up, I notice the stares the guys are giving me and Christopher. Just great…… They better not think there is something going on between the two of us. He’s a nice guy but certainly not my type.
Finally someone answers. “Hello, this is Mari Claire speaking.”
Li’s younger sister. “Hey Mari Claire, this is Shannon.”
“Hey Shaney.” She greets me happily. “I’ll call Li.” I hear her putting the phone down before walking away. I pray she doesn’t forget me. She’s done it before. Finally I hear some rustling and the phone being picked up. “Hey Shannon.”
“Where are you?” I ask immediately.
“Where I am? Stupid question since you are calling me at home.” She's right....
“You were suppose to meet me at two at the park. Right now it’s…” I trail of, wanting to check my watch when I realize I’m not wearing it.
“It’s a quarter to three.” I smile thankfully at Christopher.
“..it’s a quarter to three now so…”
“Oh Shannon, I’m so sorry but Steven just came home with the most wonderful news and I forgot.”
“Oooh.” I guess that’s a good reason.
“Oh Shannon, he got signed by a big soccer club.” I can hear the excitement in her voice and smile.
“Oh wow that is big.” I almost gape at the phone. Steven, her oldest brother, always was very talented at soccer, but who knew he was that talented? I certainly didn’t. “Send him my love and congratulations, okay.”
“I will…hey, why don’t you come over and do it yourself.” Well that is an option. Christopher catches my eye and mouths give him my love with a suggestive wink. I give him my middle finger which only makes him grin. Grrr, I never knew he was that obnoxious.
“Afterwards Steven can bring us to the mall.” Li suggests at the phone.
“That sounds like a plan.” I say. “I’ll be there in ten.”
“Okay. So….who are you with at the park. Cause this certainly isn’t your number.”
Geez you think?
“Christopher’s phone.” I mutter.
“WHAT??” She practically screeches in my ear.
“Geez woman no need to make me deaf.” I comment. “I bumped into Christopher and he offered to let me use his phone.”
“Oooh.”
“Your boyfriend is here too.” I say slyly as I look at Marcus whose cheeks start tinting a nice rosy color. I grin. It seems that Christopher is in the process of putting two and two together because he looks at me and then at Marcus who is getting redder by the second as the other two guys are catching on as well.
“Really?” Oh I can hear the soft undertone of sudden more interest in her voice.
“Yup, want me to ask him along?”
She seems to hesitate. “No I haven’t told Steven yet.” My mouth forms an o. “But tell him to call me tonight.”
“I will.”
“See you in a few.”
“Yep.” I comment before hanging up. The guys are still staring at Marcus while Christopher just grins. Then Christopher’s cell rings. At first I don’t realize it until it starts to vibrate and I almost drop it. I stretch my arm forward towards him but he shakes his head. “Answer it.”
I look at him with an incredible look on my face. “What, why?”
“You’re holding it.”
Well obviously. I retract my arm before looking at the screen. It says ‘….. calls’. I frown. Well that doesn’t help me at all. I glare at Christopher but he just smirks. And here I kept saying he was a nice guy. I press the green telephone and hold the phone to my ear. I don’t know why I do it though. It’s not like he is forcing me. I could’ve just let it ring….crap, why didn’t I just do that?
“Well you sure took your fucking time.” Someone barks from the other end.
“Geez nice way to greet someone. You always that nice?” And yes I just had to open my big trap. Go me…. The guys are snickering. I don’t look at them. My gaze is focused on the grass. Nice, sweet, soft grass.
It stays silent at the other end for a while before the voice asks. “Who is this?”
“Shannon Crear.” I mutter softly.
A moment of silence before a laugh comes from the other end. “Shady.”
Then it dawns on my who this is. Just now. I should have realized earlier. There is really only one person would bark at Christopher like that. I glare at Christopher who looks away. Mean!
“Lukas, stepped out of the wrong side of bed I hear.” Really, I never talk to Lukas like that. I have no clue why I do it now. After all Lukas and these other guys are the popular crowd. Not that I am a loser but I just am not popular nor did I have a desperate need to be. What’s so wrong with just being normal?
I can hear him snort at the other side. “Please, if one person stepped out of the wrong bed it certainly is you.” Amusement rings through his voice. What the…. What is that suppose to mean?
I never get the chance to ask him because he asks if he Christopher is around and if he could get him on the phone. I give him Christopher, but not before I give Christopher a good punch against his upper arm. He takes it graciously.
Now don’t take it the wrong way, that small conversation with Lukas. I’m not on bad terms with him. I’m in almost all of his classes. We get along okayish. Occasionally we’ll talk but I’m not close to him. He just likes teasing me. Normally I don’t react but when I do, it seems to amuse him.
And right now, Christopher is looking at me with a strange grin on his face as he talks to Lukas on the phone. Strange guy….
