paris waits

paris waits for us, my darling.

because so far,
i have traveled alone.
wonderland, to condemn you
easter island, to redeem you
but i never once stopped
to ask you your forgiveness

once, the sound of your voice
would have laced flowers in my hair
now your words cultivate
the garden of my stomach
- growing growing gone
we must all grow up & grow old
- & grow gone
even tenements have windows
and remember one day we will
do the dishonorable thing
and flee.

paris waits.

a/n: for the girl, ‘cause i love her. we’ll go to paris as you said & run away from all this, i promise. hold on to that thought.
