Nothing Gold Can Stay

By: Robert Frost

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Innocence Lost

We enter this world, young and sweet,
Everyone marching to their own beat
We look at the world with bright eyes
Everything, a joyous surprise
But over time, we grow tall
And it becomes much easier to fall
O, how easy it is to lose our way
For Nothing Gold Can Stay
