Our Ship’s Keeper 2006

And in the mist of our pain

There You are like a light house in the rain

Calling us home

To where Your safe arms unfold

Taking us up and drying the tears

Mending our bones

And soothing the sores

From the constant fight

In the game called life

Trying to stay on the charted path You’ve planned

Attempting to hold fast to the dreams that lie ahead

But here in seas of ragging typhoons

You’re the hope leading us on through

The crashing waves of doom

Of this unforgiving sea of trials

Don’t get many second chances for them and me

But…

You’re our shields that break the rain

You’re our coats that face the gale

You’re our lanterns that shine bright against these waters at night

You’re our ropes that hold our sails

You’re the nails that keep us in one piece

And You’re our ruttor steering us back to You

You who leads us home from this briny blue

And this be our song of thanks to You
