The Night

Oh! brilliant and beautiful night
I long for thee to take my fright
That one day I shall not see
The hour in which you come to me
How my dear, I long for you
When the sky is no longer blue and
The moon and stars come out to see
The power that sets me wild heart free
To my window you do knock
And I, the one who turns the lock
Our time to run is soon at hand
Across the dark and silent land
Hand in hand, we fly
Into the bright and beautiful sky
To dance beside stars and moons
To the sound of the Lyra's tune
But soon the dew of morning's dawn
Takes its place upon the lawn
And to the Earth we return
For the Sun will start to burn
And I will longingly wait for thee
'Til the hour you set me free.
