Unknown Love

There you stand with your happy wife
Unknowing of my inner strife
Wishing that you were mine
Wishing that the truth was blind
How I have longed for you
Hoping my dream would come true
That one day you would find your way
To my house and forever stay.

The pain I get standing there
Knowing you will never care
Why I lead my heart this way
Hoping, soon, it be the day
I tell of my love and incredible pain
Knowing your heart feels the same.

But, alas, I know the end
How I shall always be 'friend'
The shame I have will always be there
Of loving a man who will never care
I only hope I can learn to move on
To find another before I'm gone.

But until then, here I stand
Across the room behind the band
And there you stand with your happy wife
Unknowing of my inner strife
Wishing that you were mine
Wishing that the truth was blind.
