Whisper to a Scream

By: Demon Goddess

Summary: Azure was a normal girl with normal ambitions, until one day, she sees something so terrible, she looses her ability to talk. Until Azure becomes in tuned with this horrid thing, will she ever get back her voice?

Part One: The White Bassinette

Chapter One: The Crying of a Baby

It was what woke her up. She thought that she heard the crying of an infant. She was about to get up and close her window, when she realized something, the crying was too close to be drifting in from her neighbor’s house. She laid there with her eyes closed, trying to figure out where the sound could be coming from. The crying grew louder as she felt the breath in her lungs freeze up. A chill went down her spine, making her give an involuntary shudder; the baby was inside her room. What would a child be doing inside her room? She thought this over as she finally decided to get up and take a look.

She sat up slowly, and opened her eyes. She couldn’t see anything of real substance, her bedroom was shadowy, the only source of light were the moonbeams drifting in from outside. The moonbeams cast an eerie glow on the things it did touch, giving it an almost supernatural look to everything.

That is when she saw something out of place in her room, something that she almost didn’t notice, except for the stray moonlight that graced the back of it. It was a white bassinette, it’s front turned towards the wall. Azure looked at it for a moment, tilting her head in wonder. She could hear the babies scream grow, if possible louder, almost to a howling point.

She gently put her feet onto the plush white carpet and walked over to the bassinette. She could see from the back that the baby was covered with a see through mosquito net. She talked gently over to it, trying not to make the floor squeak. She accidentally stepped on a loose board, the wood giving off a loud moan. Her white nightgown of brushed cotton glowed somewhat clear from the moon, and floated around her body. The creaking floorboard made her almost scream. Azure could feel for sure that the room was getting colder and colder the closer she got to the baby, and the wails grow. She wondered why nobody had come to check on where the screams where coming from.

She could see a tiny fist moving as she got closer and closer. She got to the bassinette and looked within.

The whole neighborhood shook with the blood-curdling scream that came from her mouth.

WHISPER TO A SCREAM

A/N: Hey, this is my newest story, I somewhat heave what’s going to happen with her planned out. It’s a bit of teen drama, angst, horror and romance. Similar to what would happen if Degrassi met Are You Afraid of the Dark and the book Speak. If you like it, review, if you don’t, review. Tell me WHY you don’t like it, don’t just say it sucks, dickwad.

Oh, this story is rated for the future chapters.

Thanks,

Demon Goddess Angelic Sad
