Why do you do this?

Why do you think this?

Has ignorance seduced you

With a bitter kiss?

Can you not see

That equality is meant to be?

Can you not see

And children are children?

You rape the very values of religion;

Destroy what you thought you understood-

And your heart has hardened

To stone.

Do you not care to think

What God might think of you?

Has your memory decayed so far

That you have forgotten the sacred laws of life?

I beg you,

Open your eyes;

See

That equality is meant to be

And that

Lovers and lovers

And children are children.

If you walk out of the darkness

You have forged yourself,

And understand

What is meant to be-

I will forgive you.
