A LOSS
I feel my heart break at the thought of you,
And everything we've put each other through.
All these memories in the back of my mind,
Searching for the closeness I'll probably never find.
I doubt I will ever have a friend like I had,
The though of this makes my heart sad.
I was naive to think you'd always be there,
When it came down to it: It felt like you didn't care.
You're so indifferent to the way I feel,
It makes me wonder if it was ever real.
Was it another figment of my head?
Now I am numb; all I feel is dead.
Tell me there was more to our friendship than pot,
More than what either of us thought.
Because I think I was convenient for you,
You had your cake and ate it, too.
