How could I ever have dreamed I’d be able to live without you?
How did I almost turn down your
O so amazing
Love?
How did I almost reject that special gift which you give me?
What was I thinking
When I rejected your call?

My heart knows that it needs you,
Yet my heart did not always love you.
I was your husband only in word alone,
But elsewhere I courted a mistress.
I did not know the emotion with which you called,
With which you begged my fidelity;
I came back for a time now and again,
But my harlots asked I return.

Now I promise that this time it’s real.
I offer my love,
I offer my sorrow,
I offer my guilt and my shame.
I ask you to take me back once more,
Like a madman you do so with joy.
How do you do so so freely,
Without the grudges and heartache?
Why take me back when I’ve acted this way?
How can you love me so much?

Now I offer my praise for your beauty.
I worship because of your love.
I want to tell the world of your gift to me.
I want others to know I am yours.
