eye’ll t a l k it out

-

maybe 1one-liners1 about blue pop ice,

(metaphors to how we really /fit/ l in l)

-open- up a world of magical .s.i.m.i.l.e.s.

but ((whispering)) riddles in your ear

always made me feel mysterious

-

don’t we all just want to feel mysterious sometimes?

-

and it’s really a shame you’re 1one-of-a-kind1

(that “never-gonna-get-much-better-than-this” kind of quality)

because with more real people like you,

no one would ever .doubt. the mysteries -again-

and you could keep all the answers for yourself

but first let me swal low up your lingering questions

(consume them like the yellow s m o g that hangs menacingly /overhead/)

((what is s m o g, anyway?))

those curve-tailed question marks (?) always make my eyes pop

and i always look so mystifying when i’ve .d.o.t.t.e.d. my (eyes)

-

don’t we all just want to feel mysterious sometimes?

-

and darling,

if you’ve taught me anything about the magic of poetry

(how unexplainable it truly is)

((truly is my favorite word, you know))

then you must have been the 1one1 who told me,

“the mystery /fits/ perfect while you’re still swal lowing down questions

but once the answers start l e a k i n g out,

the poetry always -s-h-i-r-k-s- in the wash (out)

and the only mystery is how you let yourself get dried up this way”

-

can’t you admit you .d.o.t.t.e.d. (eyes) just the same as me?

-

didn’t you just want to feel mysterious sometime?

-

A/N- Sorry no updates in so long... Anyway this was written 4/12/06 and I finally decided to post it. A few peices like that should spring up soon...

I think everyone has those self exploration poems... Mine was definately Too Much, Too Fast. But this is kind of me mocking myself for writing it. Like "do you really need a poem to help you figure out who you are?" And yeah, sometimes I do. So here's the poem ridiculing and encouraging self exploration through poetry.

It's more about the imagery than the message, though.

And it's more about your interpretation than my message.

Love,

The Fourth Fate
