All that jazz is fading
As trumpets play around
The base player is disappearing
Pushed back by new “artists” found
Boys with clothes hanging
Speaking and calling it song
Girls with not enough covered
They never last for long
But what about that beauty
That rang music in the night?
The songs that ne’er grow old
The tunes produced with might
What happened to that lovely jazz
That once sang me to sleep?
What happened to the music
That comforts me when I weep?
It’s been replaced with rappers
And not the candy kind
But the ones who shout and curse
And don’t seem to use their mind
It’s been replaced with “talent”
That really doesn’t last
Replaced with fading music
Music fading fast.
