white elegance

you always wear those white silk gloves
that don’t leave any fingerprints,
(your life (my life) is always a crime scene, no?)
and those angel-covered
fingers
are slipping out my grasp
or maybe I’m letting them
(but you always pull me back, just in t i m e)

the rainbows when I wake up in morning are rare now darling,
you keep dressing me in black,
(does it taint your stark white elegance honey?
I’m touched you feel the need to b o t h e r…yeah right)
and you’re my light in the darkness sweetheart,
(the darkness you created)

It tinkles when I open my mouth…
laughter?
your gloves darling… you’ve forgotten them…
oh wait,
I pulled them off.
