I’ve broken bones reaching out to you

holding fingers- outstretched -begging for you

bloody winds follow me

my feet leave prints I do not make

stumble now I hide the tears

the scars that age like skin in years

stuttering out heartfelt apologies

breaking backs and bones to get what you need

stepping stones built with human lives

a stairway made of bloody corpses

inhuman will-filled desire

seeping pores of human society

the dark angles reap our lives with death

welcoming my own grim reaper

following the blood thick roads

we’re off to find another life

a sin in tragedy

I stumble my words out with broken pencils

writing out the voices singing in my head

screams echo in the night

memories of down the hall

bruises shaped like curled up hands

-bare the mark of hate on soul

here lies what I once forgot

remembering now the things I’ve lost

where to look for those who’ve broken

broken their word and destroyed their day

singing out praises I wait for the sun

lifting my head to show everyone

look here, don’t shy your eyes away

look at this mark, this flesh, this drying scar

look, look at me!

see what has come of this catastrophe

don’t forget from where you’ve come

don’t forget the places you’ve left for home

remember the times when we were young

how life was simple for everyone

childish innocence is but incompetence

don’t forget...

-to late I’ve forgotten
